Mom: "Tekle, how many times do I have to tell you, YOU CAN'T MODIFY TOYS!" As I've said before, Tekle is a kinetic learner. His nickname in Ethiopia was "the little scientist" because of his tendency to touch, feel, and "modify" everything around him. He is a BRILLIANT kid. When he was in preschool his teacher let him bring home the classroom's a broken stapler to play with. Much to her surprise he brought it back to class the next day completely repaired! He also fixed our computer printer when he was four years old. Despite his above average intelligence in many areas, he still says some hilarious "kid stuff". Like yesterday, he asked my Dad what day it was. My dad replied Friday. Shaking his head in amazement, Tekle asked "How do you always know that?!" He spent the next 10 minutes trying to unravel the mystery of how big people always know what day it is...
So as you can see in the picture above, Aaron is a pretty easy subject to take pictures of. He rarely minds having his picture taken (unlike big brothers Tekle and Jesse), will pose if you ask him to, and overall basks in the attention. He is also the youngest (until Z comes home!), so needless to say Aaron gets his picture taken pretty frequently. Earlier this week he and I were going on a walk, and when we crossed the street he wrapped his arms around my arm and then gently laid his head down. A few seconds later he seemed to get hit with the realization of how cute he probably looked at the moment so he looked up at me and asked in the sweetest little voice "Kelsey, would you like to take a picture of me like this?"
So I did of course.
Silly, silly boy.
Who needs to stop and smell the roses when you can stop and observe the worms?
So I don't have any funny stories to go along with these pics, but Janaya went to her first high-school dance last night! Sadie-Hawkins is typically a girl-asks-the-guy-dance but lots of people just go with friends, so that's what these girls did. It's cowboy/farm themed and Janaya is a 100% city girl so it was funny watching her try come up with something to wear... They looked pretty cute though!
FOUR days until Z's court date in Ethiopia! That's this Wednesday...prayers would be greatly appreciated!
